Fanny Gauthier is a leading figure in Quebec's cocktail industry. For over 15 years, she has devoted her time, energy and creativity to pushing back the boundaries of mixology, and has earned universal respect for her art. So it's with great pleasure that we welcome her as our ambassador for the Gin & Tonic Week 2023.
With Fanny Gauthier, the Gin & Tonic Week 2023 won't just be an event, it'll be an experience. Join us in celebrating this art, this craft, and this exceptional artist.
Fanny as a mixologist
Fanny isn't just a mixologist; she's a true artist. She conceives her cocktails as works of art, balancing aromas, textures and visuals to create a multi-sensory experience. Her expertise was recognized in 2019, when she was named in the "Best Mixologist of the Year in Quebec" category by Les Lauriers de la Gastronomie Québécoise.
Fanny as an entrepreneur
It is under the aegis of her company, Ateliers et Saveurs, that Fanny has left her most lasting mark. This space is at once a school, a laboratory and a showcase for mixology. Amateurs and professionals alike come here to learn, experiment and share in the culture of the cocktail. Fanny is also the owner of Bar la Plage in Greater Quebec City, an innovative venue that combines tradition and creativity. Here, cocktails evoke the sensory experience of the seaside, with its hues, flavors, sunshine and comfort.

Ingredients
- 1.5 oz Empress 1908 Gin
- 0.75 oz homemade grapefruit, rosemary & juniper berry syrup
- Top with 1642 Elderflower Tonic
- Garnish: rosemary sprig, grapefruit wedge & juniper berries
Directions
- In an old-fashioned glass filled with ice, add 0.75 oz of homemade grapefruit, rosemary & juniper berry syrup.
- Add 1642 Elderflower Tonic and stir everything together.
- Pour in 1.5 oz of Empress 1908 Gin at the end and observe the color gradient.
- Garnish with a rosemary sprig, a grapefruit wedge & juniper berries.
- Stir everything together and enjoy!

Ingredients
- 0.5 oz Roku Gin
- 0.25 oz Lime juice
- 2 drops of Japanese Yuzu Bitters
- 4-6 slices of Kumquats
- Top with 1642 Regular Tonic
Directions
- Add all the ingredients into the glass.
- Add ice cubes and fill up with 1642 Regular Tonic.
- Stir until everything is well mixed.
- Garnish with a shiso leaf and a skewer of kumquat.

Ingredients
- 1 ½ oz Menaud Gin
- ½ oz Baumier fir syrup
- ½ oz Homemade sea buckthorn puree
- 2 oz 1642 Regular Tonic
- A few sea buckthorn berries
Directions
- In a High Ball Rock glass, pour 1 ½ oz of Menaud Gin, ½ oz of Baumier fir syrup, and ½ oz of homemade sea buckthorn puree.
- Using a spoon, stir everything together.
- Top up with 1642 Regular Tonic.
- Garnish with a few sea buckthorn berries.

Ingredients
- 1.5 oz Grapefruit-Rosemary Gin from Distillerie des 3 Lacs
- 6 oz 1642 Yuzu
- Dehydrated pineapple slice
- Rosemary sprig
- Dehydrated grapefruit slice
- Ice
Directions
- In a large balloon glass, pour 1.5 oz of Grapefruit-Rosemary Gin from the Distillerie des 3 Lacs.
- Add ice.
- Top up with 6 oz of 1642 Yuzu.
- Using a spoon, stir gently.
- Add a dehydrated pineapple slice, slap a rosemary sprig (to release its aromas), and add a dehydrated grapefruit slice.
